What sort of insurance quote should I expect for a 1340cc Harley Davidson – Please read info?
I want to buy a 1340cc Harley Davidson dyna FXR motorcycle.
I’m a 35 year old man who has only had my motorbike license for one year. This would be my first bike to insure so I don’t have any no-claims bonus.
I know you can only really guess but from your experience what would you expect my insurance quote would be like. What would the fully comp quote be like and how about just 3rd party on its own?
Also, any good insurance company recommendations would be appreciated too.

How much grey primer and black spray paint do I need to paint my bike black?
I am going to use grey prime and black spray paint on my bike with decals and clear lacquer. However, how much of grey primer, black spray paint and clear lacquer will I need. I will appreciate any good suggestions.
1 can of primer, 3 cans of paint and lacquer. I say 3 cuz you should do 2 coats of each. And you will have some left over for touch ups.

As a new rider, I’ve been heavily researching and Enduro/Dual Sport Motorcylce and I need you advice, meaning those of you who have ridden these bikes! Pro’s Cons, any comments! I am not sure which bike i would like, I know i need to get one that fits my need, but i presume i will do mostly On road driving and then get to the off road exploring on weekends, nothing too harsh for terrain though.
Price is somewhat important, but if it requires me to spend a little extra for a bike that better fits my needs i will save a little more…
I presume maintenance and parts for BMW would be more expensive?

These are all nice bikes! But having a good idea of your riding needs is a great start. Here’s my pros and cons for each:
KLR 650 Pros:
Recently updated
Hugely popular, so lots of resources on-line
Rugged enough for reasonably tough terrain
KLR 650 Cons:
Probably less road friendly with knobby tires and lower gearing.
Suzuki VStrom 650 Pros:
Great torque from the V-twin – makes it easier to ride – less time worrying about which gear you’re in.
Road ready with nice platform for gear, and options for saddle bags.
Suzuki reliability
Vstrom Cons:
Nothing to rough off road, please!
BMW F Series Pros:
Awesome feature set, great technology from BMW, excellent build quality.
BMW Cons:
$$$$$$! Upfront cost and ongoing maintenance will take their toll.
All are nice choices. If it’s really mostly road and a little bit of easy trail – I live the V Strom!
